TS 36.213 §7.1.9 — PDSCH resource mapping parameters (E-UTRA physical layer procedures, Rel-11) — Any 3GPP Rel-11 compliant UE / eNB
Target release
Rel-11 (TS 36.213 v11.13.0, TS 36.331 v11.19.0, TS 36.300 v11.14.0, TS 36.212 v11.7.0, TS 36.101 v11.30.0)

Claim 14 (independent)

A user equipment, UE (214) used in a coordinated multipoint transmission and reception, CoMP, system, the user equipment comprising: a first receiver to receive, from a transmission point, TP, (TP1; TP2; TP3) attributes for up to four indicators indicating at least physical downlink shared channel, PDSCH, resource element, RE, mapping; and a second receiver to receive, from the TP, one of the four indicators, each of which is conveyed in 2 bits, wherein the four indicators comprises '00', '01', '10', and '11' corresponding to a first set, a second set, a third set, and a fourth set of parameters of the attributes, respectively, and wherein the attributes include cell-specific reference signal, CRS, information, quasi-co-location information, and a PDSCH start point, all of which are for a single TP.

Primary target: TS 36.213 (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA); Physical layer procedures) v11.13.0 §7.1.9 — PDSCH resource mapping parameters, together with TS 36.331 v11.19.0 §6.3.2 (the configuration of the parameter sets), TS 36.212 v11.7.0 §5.3.3.1 (the DCI format 2D field list), TS 36.213 v11.13.0 §7.1.10, TS 36.300 v11.14.0 §5.1.9 and TS 36.101 v11.30.0 §8.3.1.3.2.

The claimed technology — a UE in a coordinated multipoint system that is configured with up to four sets of PDSCH resource element mapping and quasi co-location parameters and is told which set applies by a two-bit indicator — enters the standard in Rel-11: TS 36.213 clause 7.1.9 and the TS 36.331 information element that configures the parameter sets are absent in Rel-10 and present in Rel-11. The chart is therefore written on the LTE family (TS 36.xxx) against Rel-11, and the wording of most cited clauses has changed in later releases, so it is not asserted for them.

Chosen branch: a UE configured in transmission mode 10 that decodes a PDSCH assigned by a PDCCH/EPDCCH with DCI format 2D, where one of up to four parameter sets is selected by the value of the indicator field. The branches that decode with DCI format 1A use parameter set 1 fixed and carry no indicator; they are not used as evidence.

Matching colors mark corresponding elements between the claim and the standard. An underline in a screenshot marks the text the mapping rests on.

P

A user equipment, UE (214) used in a coordinated multipoint transmission and reception, CoMP, system, the user equipment comprising:

Context: a UE configured in transmission mode 10 is configured with up to 4 parameter sets and decodes the PDSCH scheduled by a PDCCH/EPDCCH with DCI format 2D (TS 36.213 v11.13.0 §7.1.9); the setting is DL CoMP, in which multiple transmission points are coordinated in their downlink data transmission (TS 36.300 v11.14.0 §5.1.9).

L1

a first receiver to receive, from a transmission point, TP, (TP1; TP2; TP3) attributes for up to four indicators indicating at least physical downlink shared channel, PDSCH, resource element, RE, mapping; and

The network side, E-UTRAN, configures at least one PDSCH-RE-MappingQCL-Config for the serving frequency when transmission mode 10 is configured (TS 36.331 v11.19.0 §6.3.2). The UE is configured by higher layer signaling with up to 4 sets of parameters for determining PDSCH RE mapping and PDSCH antenna port quasi co-location and uses a set according to the value of the PDSCH RE Mapping and Quasi-Co-Location indicator field for determining the PDSCH RE mapping (TS 36.213 v11.13.0 §7.1.9).

a second receiver to receive, from the TP, one of the four indicators, each of which is conveyed in 2 bits,

The UE uses the parameter set according to the value of the PDSCH RE Mapping and Quasi-Co-Location indicator field in the detected PDCCH/EPDCCH with DCI format 2D (TS 36.213 v11.13.0 §7.1.9); the field is 2 bits in the DCI format 2D field list (TS 36.212 v11.7.0 §5.3.3.1). The sending side is the same E-UTRAN that configures the parameter sets in L1 (TS 36.331 v11.19.0 §6.3.2).
